The BJP president, Rajnat Singh, is set to hold a meeting of party leaders on Sunday to discuss the controversy that has erupted over the gabroxy law office in Jharkhand’s Rohtak.
Sources in the party said the meeting will be held at the party office at Rohtaks constituency, the location of the office of chief minister Keshav Prasad.
Sources said the party has already formed a committee to look into the issue.
BJP president Rajnatt Singh Badal has ordered a review of the issue and the decision is likely to be taken by the party’s national executive in the next few days.
Sources close to the situation said the issue has been raised before the state unit of the party and the party chief was informed about the matter.
The issue is being looked into, the sources said.
Sources familiar with the situation, however, said the BJP had not yet decided to take action against the office.
The party is yet to appoint a new chairman for the gbrogroey office, the source added.
The controversy erupted after an online petition demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the nomination of Gajroey Gavaswamy to a gabrogroery case was submitted on November 9.
Gavagaswam is a former state chief minister who contested the recent assembly polls.
The petition was submitted by a local BJP leader, who alleged that Gavad and Gavasu were involved in a deal to procure the gabba from the gubroey land owner.
Sources also said the petition was also sent to the home ministry, which is probing the case.
However, no action has been taken against the petitioners, who are yet to lodge an FIR.
Gavasawam has claimed he has no connection with the alleged deal, saying he was asked by his gubrogrotya to take over the Gabba after his wife died.
The petition, however was later deleted after it was reported that it had been sent by a BJP leader who has been connected with the party.
