The Baker law office of Thomas Baker, III filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government on Friday, alleging that the Department of Justice “has denied Baker, Baker, II, Baker’s Law Office loans to Baker, LLC, Baker & Co., and others based on fraudulent or improper representations made to Baker and its clients.”
The law office’s attorneys wrote that the Baker law offices “is entitled to recover damages based on the misrepresentations” made by the Department and “as a result of the fraudulent or inappropriate representations, Baker and other Baker & Company law firms have incurred substantial and unjustified legal expenses.”
Baker has filed a countersuit, seeking $400 million in damages.
