In the days leading up to the trial of a former police officer accused of murdering a woman, the legal team for the woman’s husband has worked to establish their client’s legal rights.
The defense team for Francis Mangano, who is accused of fatally shooting his wife, has already hired an attorney, who has provided legal help to the defense team.
But the defense is also relying on the services of the law offices of several former prosecutors.
The lawyer of a retired cop who was once in charge of the city’s homicide unit, and a retired prosecutor with more than 30 years of experience who are both accused of mishandling cases, are both on the case.
And a former prosecutor with over 20 years of work on police cases is handling Mangano’s case as well.
The work is just getting started.
Mangano has been in jail since January after he was arrested on a domestic violence charge and charged with murder.
He has been denied bail, and his case is now in the hands of an outside lawyer.
“We are working very closely with the defense attorneys and the prosecutors who are on this case,” said Marc Schumacher, a defense attorney for Mangano.
“We have been working with the city, and we are working closely with all of the prosecutors.”
But Schumachers team is also bringing in a new lawyer, who also has worked on homicide cases.
“It’s going to be very helpful to him and his family and our team,” Schumaker said.
The lawyers have been taking legal advice on the matter from attorneys who have been involved in the prosecution of cases in which police officers have been convicted of murder.
Schumakers team has consulted with a lawyer who has worked for a police officer convicted of first-degree murder and the former head of the New York City Police Department.
“There are a lot of people who are familiar with the work of the police department in New York and New York State who have seen these cases,” Schuetz said.
“I think this is going to help them be a little more confident and have a more informed defense.”
The defense attorneys are also working closely together with prosecutors on the homicide case.
“This is a case that is going through a process of getting through the court system, through appeals and through appeals to the district court, to the state Supreme Court,” said Schumakers lawyer, Matthew Miller.
Miller said that the defense has also worked with prosecutors in other cases, including the case against former police officers who were convicted of child abuse in Brooklyn.
Miller says he hopes his team will be able to help his client during the trial.
“My goal is to make sure that this person who was convicted of this crime is given an opportunity to prove his innocence,” he said.
