FBI agents who are part of a special investigation into the “toxic environment” inside the FBI, as the bureau continues to face a wave of criticism for its handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, say they are “shocked and disgusted” by the agency’s handling of this case.
The agents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also said they have no confidence in the FBI’s ability to investigate the case.
“I think we all agree it’s an incredibly complex and difficult case, but I think we need to look at the facts and understand that the FBI is not an investigative agency,” said the source, who has worked with the FBI for more than 30 years.
“I just don’t think they have the ability to conduct a fair and thorough investigation.”
A separate source with knowledge of the investigation said that in response to a tip from a federal agent, agents are investigating a possible leak of classified information, possibly to the press.
The source said agents have interviewed some of the people who received the information.
The sources told Bleacher that while the FBI has not yet made any official comment, the investigation is expected to take months.
“There’s nothing that I know of that indicates anything was compromised,” the source said.
“That is, it’s not known that the information was leaked or leaked to anyone.
They’re trying to figure out what happened and what could have been done to stop it.”
They’re trying really hard to figure that out.”FBI Director James Comey has publicly defended the FBI and said it was acting appropriately during the Hillary email probe.
Comey’s critics say that’s not accurate, and that he has gone to great lengths to minimize the impact of the case on the election.
The FBI has said the investigation has found no evidence that the Clinton campaign or the Democratic National Committee colluded with Russia to sway the 2016 election.
The agents said the bureau is investigating the matter to determine whether the case should be reopened.”
“They’ve been looking at it for years,” the second source added. “
But we need the facts.”
“They’ve been looking at it for years,” the second source added.
“It’s very difficult to believe that they could have overlooked this.
They’ve been very thorough in their investigation.
We are shocked and disgusted by this.”
