An immigration law lawyer from Ireland has been arrested by police in Spain after he allegedly posted a racist message on Twitter about the “n*****s” in the Dublin public sector.
The arrest was made after a man called Karl Keating, 45, who works as an immigration lawyer, allegedly posted an anti-immigration message on Sunday morning.
The message said: “We are the n*****s, we are the racists, we will come back here and rape you.”
It is understood that the lawyer had been under investigation for a possible breach of the Official Secrets Act (OSA).
Mr Keating is the head of Keating Law, which offers immigration law services to local authorities and the Irish Department of Justice.
A spokesperson for the Irish Embassy in Madrid said: The Embassy would not comment on the ongoing investigation into the matter, however, the Embassy takes all allegations of hate speech seriously and is fully committed to ensuring that our diplomatic representation in Madrid is safe and secure.
